Educational qualification
Should hold a degree of recognized university with minimum 60% aggregate marks for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 55% aggregate for SC/ST candidates.
Mathematics and Physics as subject up to Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics
Age and age relaxation
21-25 years(5 Yrs relaxation for SC/ST and 3 Yrs for OBC)
(5 Yrs relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army or Navy or Air Force
Selection Procedure
The selection of Assistant Commandant (GD) is based on an all India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidate in various stages (I – V) of examination (explained in detail below) and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV
and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG. All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to biometric, photo identification and document verification during various stages of examination. The candidate can apply for a single post only in one recruitment cycle. Various stages of CGCAT are as follows:-
(1) Stage-I (Screening Test)
(2) Stage-II ( Preliminary Selection Board)
(3) Stage-III ( Final Selection Board)
(4) Stage-IV (Medical examination)
(5) Stage-V (Induction)
